Robert E."Bob" Harriger, 90, of Hermitage, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, in Nugents Convalescent Home after an extended illness.
Bob was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Rimersburg, a son of the late Frank Harriger and the late Nannie Smith Harriger.
He graduated from Union Joint High School in Rimersburg and was employed by Sharon Steel in the Protection and Car Shop for 31 years, retiring in October 1983. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Bob was a member of First Assembly of God.
He was a handyman and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Bob is survived by his wife, Merrium (Milner) Harriger, whom he married in September 1947. They just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
He is also survived by three daughters, Theodora Sturges of Hermitage, Roberta Crane and her husband, Robert, of Washington and Hazel Short of Archbold, Ohio; one son, Frank Harriger and his wife, Carol, of Hermitage; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Pearl Mackinlay and Dorothea King.
