Robert Joseph Grexa, of Hartford, passed away on Monday (Nov. 20, 2017) in Allegheny General Hospital surrounded by family. He was 38.
Bob was born on Aug. 3, 1979, in Greenville, the son of John T. and Susan Conway Grexa.
Mr. Grexa was a 1997 graduate of Joseph Badger High School. Following high school, Bob matriculated to St. Petersburg College where he studied public safety and was a graduate of its police academy.
He was a former Lieutenant for the Hartford Township Police Department and Eastern District Probation Officer for the Trumbull County Sherriff's Department. Bob was also a business partner in American Uniforms and Arms LLC in Warren, Ohio, and RRT Catering Co.
Mr. Grexa was a member of the Son's of Italy Shenango Valley and the Fraternal Order of Police. He always looked forward to going to the mountains and hunting camp. He enjoyed cooking, and most of all he cherished the times spent with his friends, family and his beloved black lab, Pau.
He is survived by: his parents, John and Susan Grexa of Hartford; two brothers, Ryan Fish of Akron and Tim (Kim) Grexa of Hartford; five nieces and nephews, Amanda, John, Andy, Katie, and Carl; in addition he is also survived by a brother from another mother, Ben Anspach.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made in memory of Bob to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, 545 Brunstetter Road SW, Warren, Ohio 44481.

A private graveside service will be held in America's Cemetery Hermitage.
The family of Robert requests that friends and family join them at 3 p.m. Friday (11-24-17) at Quaker Steak & Lube, 101 Chestnut St. Sharon, for a celebration of life.
