Richard F. Straub, 81, Otter Creek Township, Greenville, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at his home.
Richard was born in Greenville on July 17, 1936, a son of the late Samuel and Alda (Grinnell) Straub.
On June 6, 1970, he married the former Virginia M. Thompson who survives.
He had been employed by Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad, retiring in 1996.
Richard lived his entire life at the family homestead where he was born and raised and had farmed the land many years.
He was a longtime supervisor for Otter Creek Township, a 60-year member of the Pomona, State and National Grange and locally belonged to the Log Cabin Unity Grange.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two sons, Joel R. Straub and his wife Christie and Christopher R. Straub and his wife Megan, all of Greenville; a brother, William R. Straub and his wife Helen, also Greenville; and four grandchildren, Sawyer Straub, Callie Straub, Tucker Straub and Liza Straub, all of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service: 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Blauser, interim minister of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment: With committal service follows in Shenango Valley Cemetery.
