Richard L. "Dick" Palmer of Grove City passed away Friday afternoon (Dec. 29, 2017). He was 84.
Dick was born in Liberty Township, Mercer County, on April 22, 1933, to Earl F. and Hazel (Heasley) Palmer.
He married Virginia I. Patterson on Dec. 5, 1951.
He was a self-employed truck driver for 30 years and previously drove for the former Tajon Trucking Co., Mercer.
Dick was raised in the protestant faith and attended Wayside Community Church.
He was a former member of the F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge 603, and he also was a driver for Meals on Wheels in the Grove City area.
Dick is survived by: his wife, Virginia at home; three children, Rhonda McClelland and husband Terry, Grove City, Robert L. Palmer and wife Beverly, Ocoee, Fla., and Richard 'Dick' Palmer and wife Rebecca, Grove City; three grandchildren, Jodi McClelland-Sindlinger and husband Dan, Jason McClelland and wife Shawna, and Camden Palmer; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold L. Palmer, Clearwater, Fla.
His parents, two sisters, Grace McCarthy and Mary 'Sis' Ryder, and two brothers, Leonard 'Bud' and James Palmer, preceded Dick in death.
