Raymond Paul's Story
Raymond Paul Barker, 125 S. Otter St., Apt A, Mercer, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at 7:43 a.m. after an extended illness. He was 69.
Raymond was born July 30, 1947, in Clarksburg, W.Va., a son of Raymond Earl Barker and Sarah Jeanette Hughes Barker.
He married Janice L. Timko Barker on July 12, 1969. She passed away on Feb. 13, 1989.
Raymond graduated in 1965 from Mercer High School and worked at Foster's Grading in Jackson Center.
He was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Mercer American Legion and Mercer VFW.
Raymond is survived by his son, John Barker and his wife, Karen, of Asheboro, N.C.; a sister, Linda, and her husband, George Johnson of Warren, Ohio; a brother, Alvin Taggart and his wife, Lauren, of Charleroi, Pa.; and a grandson, Nicholas Barker of Asheboro, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Visiting hours: 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday (6-25-17) at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Monday (6-26-17) at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Carlson, pastor of visitation at Mercer United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial: Findley Cemetery, Findley Township.
