Ralph M. Erb, Jr., of Harrisville, passed away at Grove City Medical Center on Tuesday ( Jan. 16, 2018) at 10:07 p.m.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1940, in Grove City to Ralph M. Erb, Sr. and Frances Josephine McCoy Erb.
Ralph graduated from Harrisville High School in 1958 and later the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1960. Ralph began his career as a funeral director with McCabe Brothers in Pittsburgh.
He spent many years working for the Harold Jamison Funeral Home in Harrisville.
Ralph was affiliated with the Grace United Methodist Church in Grove City.
In addition to his funeral work, he served on the board of directors of Prairie Cemetery. Through the years his other enterprises included owning and operating Porky's Smokehouse in North Pittsburgh and Baskin and Robins Ice Cream in Pittsburgh (Oakland).
He was an accomplished organist. He played at clubs, weddings, and through the years had been a teacher to numerous students.
Survivors include a number of very close friends in the community.

Funeral: Services were conducted by Rev. Willard Morse at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Slippery Rock, on Jan. 21, 2018 at 3 p.m.
Interment was in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
