Paul H. Haut, 87, of Mercer passed away at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at UPMC Greenville after an extended illness.
Paul was born in Pittsburgh on Aug. 3, 1930, to Herman and Selma Easler Haut.
Mr. Haut was a supervisor for A&P Tea Co. and also owned and operated Frontier Hotel and Restaurant in Irwin.
He also was a sergeant in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mercer, Greenville Moose, Mercer American Legion, Hickory VFW and Italian Home Club in Greenville.
Mr. Haut is survived by three children, Paul H. Haut Jr. and his wife, Beth, of Carlisle, Stephen Haut of Shippensburg and Linda Swaim of Defiance, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, who were his caretakers, Carol and Marvin Nahrbecki of Mercer; four grandchildren, Sarah and Geoffrey Haut, Kody and Jessica Swaim; and one great-grandson, Owen Edward Shafer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Selma Haut.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday (9-15-17) at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 100 Penn Ave., Mercer, with the Very Rev. Matthew Kujawinski V.F. officiating.
Burial: Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
