Paul Wilbur Campbell, 84, of Mercer, passed away at Avalon Springs at 10:10 p.m. Thursday (April 11, 2019) after a brief illness.
He was born in Mercer on Aug. 12, 1934, to William John and Mary Elizabeth Mansfield Campbell.
Paul worked at Sharon Steel Corp. from 1952 to 1993, and he was also a self-employed farmer.
He was a John Deere and Farmall enthusiast.
Paul was a veteran who served in the National Guard.
He was a member of Springfield Church where he was an elder. He was also a past supervisor for Findley Township.
Paul married Sara Louise Haymond on Dec. 14, 1956; she died on Jan. 23, 2013.
He is survived by: his two daughters, Bonnie (Poonsak) Sritalapat in Montville, Ohio, and Leona (George) McIntire in Jackson Center; three grandchildren, Deana and Danielle Sritalapat and Cody (Brittany) Thompson; three step-grandchildren, Mike (Jodi) McIntire, Jamie (Randy) Reed, Crystal McIntire; two great- grandchildren, Dana and Jackson Thompson; three step-great-grandchildren, Riley, Devin and Emma McIntire.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Sara Louise Campbell; and one brother, Dale Campbell.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday (4-15-19) at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME INC., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.
Service: 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Evelyn Beebe, CRE, officiating.
Interment: Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township.

I did not know Mr. Campbell but I did have the opportunity to work with his daughter, Bonnie. She was a very loving daughter who loved nothing more than spending the day at the farm with her Dad. She was very proud of him. May you Rest In Peace Mr. Campbell!🙏🏻🙏🏻
