Nancy Isabelle (Robertson) Clark, Mercer, formerly of North East, Erie County, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at home after an extended illness. She was 74.
Born June 25, 1943, in Wellsboro, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Arthur O. and Helen L. McDermott Robertson.
After graduating from Wellsboro High School, she graduated from Temple University School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse, including many years at Metro Health Center of Erie and later as an office nurse in a private practice.
Nancy was a member of Jackson Center Presbyterian Church and its bell choir.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored, George, Henry, and Zeke Baker and Kenna and Carson Clark.
Nancy was a U.S. Navy veteran, active duty as well as the U.S. Naval Reserve Nurse Corps.
Her first husband, Jerry Dan Byars, whom she married in April 1967 was tragically killed in action aboard the USS Forrestal in July of 1967. She later married Theodore A. "Ted" Clark, June 26, 1971, and he survives at home.
Also surviving are: two children, Dr. Cherie Lynne Byars, Mercer, and Christopher A. (Abbey) Clark, Jackson Center; and two brothers, William S. (Marilyn) Robertson, Erie, and John A. "Jack" Robertson, Wellsboro.
