Mildred Dunkerley, 91, of 1055 301 Blvd. East, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Hermitage, died at 12:50 a.m. March 2, 2018.
Mrs. Dunkerley was born May 13, 1926, in Clearfield, Pa., to Pius and Ruth Oleskey.
She was married to Norman W. Batten in 1946. He died in 1987.
Surviving are two sons, William Batten and his wife Evelyn, and James Batten and his wife Ko; four grandchildren and three-great grandchildren.
Mildred later married Dale A. Dunkerley in 1999. He died in 2009. She has a surviving stepdaughter, Darlene Gibowicz and her husband Edward.
Mildred is survived by three sisters, Marcella Shimp, Ruth Lavin and Lillian Matzel.
Mildred raised her family in Hermitage, where she was a member of Church of Notre Dame and sang in their choir. Most of her time was spent being a homemaker but she had worked at Bell Telephone and later at Sears selling maintenance agreements.
Besides singing, Mildred also enjoyed tole painting, baking and knitting.
Mildred's family will have funeral services at America's Cemetery, Hermitage, at a date to be determined.
