Mary Jane Marti
Jane was born March 9, 1933, in Elton, Ohio, to the late Thomas and Eva May Harrold Young.
She married Jacobo "Jack" Marti, formerly of Switzerland, Ohio, on Oct. 17, 1953. Partnered with her husband, Jacobo, they built and operated Farmer's Cheese, also known as Jacobo Marti and Sons, from 1955 to 1986.
Jane enjoyed and cherished her family first and then had a love of friends, books, bowling, golf, sewing, math, and playing cards. She was an active member for many years of Neshannock Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a session member.
Jane was known as a strong but gentle person, who was kind, caring, compassionate, funny and could recall most anything from fact, trivia and memories from many years past.
Jane successfully raised, along with her husband, five children, being proud of having four Eagle Scouts and two grandsons who were also Eagle Scouts.
She enjoyed her 11 grandchildren while helping run the family business.
Survivors include four sons: Jack and Geraldine Marti, James and Mary K. Marti, Timothy and Suzanne Marti, Rick and Lori Marti; a daughter: Debra and Dan Kennedy; grandchildren: Josh Marti, Chelsea Marti, Elissa (Marti) Castor, Jack Marti II, Shayna (Marti) Blinn, Dan Kennedy II, Janie Kennedy, Abbey Kennedy, Jim Marti II, Dakota Marti, and Kati Marti; and eight great-grandchildren.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jack in May of 2001; a sister: Vivian Young Janata; and a brother: Harold Young.
Her sister, Sally Young Yoder, survives.
The family would like to thank Home Instead Senior Care, Kindred Hospice and Shenango on the Green Rehab Department for their wonderful care, compassion, information and help at this difficult time.
