Mary Jane Beltz
Born on Dec. 17, 1929, in Michigan, with her twin sister Bertha, she was a daughter of Carl Samuel and Hope Marie (Stiver) Beltz.
After their mother's death in 1936, Jane and her sister moved to Homer City, where they were raised by their grandparents, William and Bertha Mae (Stiver) Wheeler.
Jane graduated from Homer City High School in 1947.
In 1950, Jane married Robert M. Nichols in Harborcreek, and had four children: Deborah, Kathleen, Natalie and Samantha Nichols. They divorced in 1966.
Jane had a vivacious, adventurous, and independent spirit. She lived and worked in Erie, Mercer and Sharon; Houston, Texas, California, and Orlando, Fla. She had jobs in offices, cosmetology, restaurants and sales. She waitressed at John Schuster's Steak House and at Holiday Inns in Erie and Houston. She did sales for Olan Mills and home remodeling firms.
In retirement, she lived in her own home in Sharon.
Jane is survived by: her daughters; twin sister, Bertha Custer; two grandchildren, Tevis and Amanda Nichols (Kathleen); and two nephews, Dick and Bill Custer.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; grandparents; former husband; and her brother, Carl Beltz Jr.

Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
