Mabel Ellen (Schepp) Lawrence, 90, of Mercer, Springfield Township, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at her residence, following an extended illness.
Mable was born on March 24, 1929, at 2 Brent Road, Springfield Township, Mercer County, to James and Katheryn Knight Schepp. She married Clifter Cliften Lawrence on June 24, 1950, at the Church of God of Prophecy in Leesburg.
As a member of the Church of God, which she joined in 1939, she was the last surviving charter member of the church. Mabel had served as the church clerk and treasurer for 37 years and was an active Sunday school teacher.
She had worked at Riverside Grocery in Grove City for 14 years, where she retired as sales manager of the bakery department.
She was an artist who enjoyed painting and gardening.
Survivors include her son, Terry C. (Patty) Lawrence, of Mercer; daughter, Susan J. Lawrence (James) Koehler, of Amityville, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Jason and Jessie Lawrence, and Marguerite, Katie and Ariel Koehler; three great-grandchildren, Joel, Grant, and Ivy Lawrence; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Jennie Burgess and Vera Ausel; and brothers, James and Chester Schepp.
Memorial Contributions may be given in her name to Grace Harvest Church.

Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday (9-12-19) at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Hwy., Volant, 16156, and 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday (9-13-19) at Grace Harvest Church, 2396 Leesburg-Grove City Road, Mercer, 16138.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with Pastor John Texter and Rod Burk presiding.
Interment: Carpenter Cemetery, Springfield Township, Mercer County, following the service.
