Mabel G. McGinnis Fischer of Timber Lane, Hermitage, died peacefully at her residence on June 23, 2017. Mabel was 83.
She was born March 26, 1934, in Lackawannock Township to the late Charles J. and Delilah Snyder Gilliland.
Mabel married Walter L. "Mose" McGinnis in 1955. He preceded her in death in October of 1984. She then married Richard A. Fischer. He survives at the residence in Hermitage.
She was a wonderful homemaker and was a member of Church of Christ of Hermitage.
Survivors include: her husband, Richard; one daughter, Kelly Nan (Tim) of New Wilmington; three sons, Kevin McGinnis (Judy) of New Castle; Bryan McGinnis (Nancy) of New Wilmington; and Kirk McGinnis (Leslie) of Virginia Beach. Also surviving are: two sisters, Sally A. Moreno of West Middlesex; and Linda L. Boyd (Wendell) of New Wilmington; two brothers, Dr. Charles Gilliland (Cheryl) of Roanoke, Vir.; and Jeffrey A. Gilliland (Kim) of New Wilmington; and two step-sons, Richard Fischer and Thomas Fischer (Karen). Completing the family are: 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren.
Mabel was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Mose McGinnis; and one sister, Charlotte E. Nier.

Calling hours: 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday (6-27-17) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The Rev. John Anthony Renwick of Church of Christ and Mabel's brother, Jeffrey A. Gilliland, will officiate.
Interment: Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington.
