Lonnie Bridges

Lonnie Bridges Sr., 60, passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at his residence in Farrell.
Lonnie was born Oct. 1, 1958, a son of Chester Bridges Sr. and Lelia Bridges.
Lonnie was a 1976 graduate of Farrell High School. He loved working in the Farrell Municipal Building where he was employed as a custodian.
He loved spending time with his family, working and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Lonnie was a loving family man with a kind heart and a compassionate spirit.
Lonnie leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Roberta Byler Bidges; his children, Lonnie Preston Jr. and his fiancee, Jessica, and Shacara; his granddaughters, Bella and Sara Elizabeth; his brothers, James Teague, Jerry Teague, Chester Bridges Jr. and his wife, Betty, Isaac Bridges Sr., Lloyd Bridges, Sterling Bridges and his wife, Evelyn, Ulysses Preston Jr. and Sidney Preston; his sisters, Joyce Bridges, Florene Ham and her husband, Prentiss, Bernice Preston and Donnamerlene Keys; and a host of nieces and nephews who were very special to him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Bridges Sr.

Lonnie Sr., 60, of Farrell.
Calling hours: From 10 to 11 a.m. Friday (10-12-18) at Greater Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ. The family also will receive friends at 390 Emerson Ave., Farrell.
Service: Homegoing celebration will be 11 a.m. Friday (10-12-18) at Greater Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ, where Supt.Tyrone Steals will officiate.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery.
Ministry of comfort and transitional care entrusted to J.E. WASHINGTON FUNERAL SERVICES, 1059 Hamilton Ave., Farrell.

I worked with Lonnie for quite a few years at Premier Hydraulics. I was laid off some time before he was. After being laid off I can truthfully say he was the only person I missed from the place. He was good natured and a great all around man. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing!

Rest with god Lonnie and celebrate in heaven with our other classmates that have gone too soon. You will always be a part of our class and remembered. I remember what a sweet quiet man you were!
