Lois E. Scales, 79, of Sharon, died unexpectedly at 12:02 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell.
Lois was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Harwick, Pa., to Edna (Butterfield) Brown and Cloyd Brown.
She graduated from Sharon High School and earned her RN degree from the former Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing.
A registered nurse, she was midnight supervisor at the Sharon hospital for 35 years.
Lois was of the Methodist faith.
She enjoyed crafts, sewing and knitting.
Surviving are: a daughter, Melissa Scales of Sharpsville, and a son, Kenneth Scales, of Sharon; a brother, Cloyd Brown and his wife, Patricia, of Hermitage; grandsons, Kenneth Steach and Richard Cosco; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Mandy, Sugar and Cynamon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Scales; two infant daughters; and a sister, Ethel Simion.
