Lena M. McCoy, 94, formerly of 441 E. Market St., Mercer, passed away peacefully at The Grove at Greenville on July 19, 2017, at 8:53 a.m. She was born in Coolspring Township on Sept. 26, 1922, to Patrick J. Hogan and Lena Strosser.
Mrs. McCoy married Wayne Albert McCoy on Oct. 27, 2017.
Lena had worked at the Mercer Sanitarium and was a bookkeeper at Phinney's Hardware in Franklin and Lawson's in Mercer for 15 years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mercer, where she often helped and volunteered for Loaves and Fishes.
Mrs. McCoy is survived by her daughter, Katherine J. Bello and her husband, Joseph Bello, in Jamestown; a son, Mark L. McCoy and his wife, Anita, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and one brother, James Hogan and his wife, Jane, of Fredonia. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Patricia Jean McCoy; one son, Kenneth Patrick McCoy; five sisters, Mary Masson, Margaret Moore, Agnes Harakal, Stella Ramsey and Regina Yuengert; and four brothers, Francis, Joseph, Richard and John Hogan.
