Lela L. Dessaw, 88, of Farrell, formerly of California, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Sharon Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Ashville, N.C., to Elliot Flint Sr. and Ruth Graham Flint. She attended Farrell schools.
She was a retired supervisor at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, Calif.,
She was a member of Greater New and Living Way Temple, Sharon. She was a member of the Farrell High School football and basketball boosters and worked diligently in the church.
Her husband, Henry "Doc" Dessaw, died in 1987.
Surviving are three daughters, Linnette (Tony) Hardy of Las Vegas, Lisa Stewart of Farrell, and Tina (Dennis) Slater, Farrell; four sons, Robert D. (Janice) Stewart of Farrell, Daniel (Gloria) Stewart of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Vernon Stewart of Columbia, S.C., and Omar (Nichole) Stewart, Farrell; 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two great-great-great children; a sister, Pollymae Harris, McKinley, Texas; a brother, Paul Flint, Columbus, Ohio; special friends the Rev. Robert and Charlotte Stewart, Farrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathy Hailstock in 2018; a sister, Linnette; and brothers Robert, Clauston and Elliot Jr.

Calling hours: 10 to 10:50 a.m. Saturday (4-20-19) in Greater New and Living Way Temple, Sharon.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with Bishop Stephen L. Bennefield, pastor, officiating, and Chief Apostle Bishop Alvin S. McCoy as eulogist.
All flowers should be delivered to the church.
Burial: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
