Lawrence Edward "Skip" Houston, 80, of Grove City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday (Aug. 30, 2017).
He was born on Oct. 20, 1936, in Mars, Pa., to the late Raymond Walter Houston and Miriam Lloyd (Houston) Bash.
A humble and faithful member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Harrisville, Skip served as a trustee, deacon, and elder.
Having worked as a welder and carpenter, he retired as a truck driver.
In addition to spending time with his family and church family, he found great joy in the many years he served as a volunteer at Grove City Medical Center.
Skip enjoyed caring for his lawn and roses, golf, and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball.
He is survived by: his beloved wife of 60 years, Virginia A. (Buchanan) Houston; three daughters, Lacy Houston, Lisa Theodorson, and Lori Saloom; and one son, Larry Houston. God blessed him with five grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Ryan Saloom, Megan Theodorson, Nicole Risch and Shane Houston; and three great-grandchildren, Owen Taylor, Carly Taylor and Alexander Saloom. Skip is also survived by three sisters, Georgetta May Burk, DeEtta Gay (Bash) Janis and Claudia Jean (Bash) Copple; and one brother, Kenneth Richard Bash.
Skip was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Walter Houston and Gerald Lee Houston, and one sister, Barbara Louise Roberts.
