Larry James Mathieson, 63, of Mercer, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at Grove City Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Grove City, on Sept. 4, 1954, to Robert and Jean Dougherty Mathieson. Larry married Debra George on June 29, 2013.
Larry retired from the Mercer County Jail as a corrections officer. He was a member of the Mercer American Legion and Mercer VFW.
Larry is survived by his wife, Debra Mathieson, at the residence; one daughter: Kadi, wife of Anthony Shetter, in Volant; two sisters: Margaret, wife of Randy Guthrie, in Jackson Center; Cheryl McCoy in Franklin; four brothers: Robert E. Mathieson, Jr. in Volant; Ralph E. Oakes and his wife Sharon in Sharpsville; Robert W. Mathieson and his wife Debbie in Mercer; Lester Paul Mathieson and his fiancee Diana in Jackson Center; and three grandchildren: Aleeyah and Gracelyn Shetter and Tyler Hockenberry.
Mr. Mathieson was preceded in death by his parents.

Service: 11 a.m. Thursday (11-2-17) at the funeral home with Pastor Rod Burk, a friend of Larry's, officiating.
Burial: Carpenter Cemetery, Springfield Township.
