Larry's Story

Larry L. Coxson, of Jefferson Township, passed away at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, in UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley Hospital. He was 74. 
Mr. Coxson was born May 29, 1943, in Sharon, a son of Samuel and Anne (Spohn) Coxson. He attended Brookfield High School and served with the U.S. Navy from Jan. 25, 1961, to June 5, 1964. While in the Navy, he was a fireman apprentice aboard the USS Randolph.
Larry was employed in the maintenance department at the former Sharon Steel's Farrell plant until it closed and retired from McDonald Steel, McDonald, Ohio
He was a lifetime member at VFW Post 3521, Vienna, Ohio, and of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Ashtabula, Ohio Larry was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Nascar.
Larry is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy (Davis) Zoboroski, whom he married in 1997. He is also survived by a daughter, Tracy Muszik and her husband, Dwayne, of Hermitage; a son, David Coxson and his wife, Colleen, of Ashland, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Kim Joyce and her husband, Scott, of Sharpsville; six grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; three brothers; and two stepsons, Richard and Mark Zaboroski.
