Karen Hromyak Ross, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017.
She was born in Brookfield, Ohio, on Dec. 16, 1940, to George and Laina Hromyak. Karen held two master's degrees (education, school psychology) and she worked for more than 40 years as a school psychologist, guidance counselor, teacher and clinical therapist.
Karen was an avid antiques collector and owned "Karen's" antiques on Fifth Avenue in Naples, Fla. She was an enthusiastic Buckeyes fan and lifelong supporter of OSU (chairman of the Naples OSU Alumni Association); politically active at the local and national level (a delegate to DNC); an education proponent serving as president of the OEA, Delta Kappa Gamma and the SW FL Association of School Psychologists; and a lifelong Christian (member of Howland United Methodist in Ohio and Moorings Presbyterian in Florida).
She is survived by her only daughter, Wendy K. Weiselberg (Chris) White; two grandchildren; brother, George (Carol) Hromyak.
