Karen Lee Wheaton Mitcheltree, 72, of Hermitage, passed away at Sharon Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Fredonia on Oct. 23, 1945, to James Sanford Wheaton and Eva Marie Dresch Wheaton. She married William Ira Mitcheltree Jr. on Sept. 18, 1965. In her younger years, she worked at Hickory Drive Inn and was a Girl Scout leader.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and was a member of the Altar Guild of the church and worked in the nursery.
She enjoyed puzzle books, bus trips, cruises and the West Middlesex Big Red Marching Band. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and taking care of her dog, May.
Survivors include her husband, William, at home; son, William James "Bill" Mitcheltree (Meriaha) of West Middlesex; daughter, Cindy M. Mitcheltree of Sharon; two sisters, Shirley Gibson of Hermitage and Margaret "Peggy" Cunningham of West Middlesex; two granddaughters, Olivia and Hannah Mitcheltree; three brothers-in-law, Edward Mitcheltree (Jan) of Sharpsville, Richard Mitcheltree (Chris) of Sharon, and Robert Mitcheltree (Pat) of Sun City, Fla.
She is preceded in death by two sisters, Dotty Mae Gibson and Norma Jean Schell and a brother, James C. Wheaton.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

Service: Funeral will be noon Saturday (6-16-18) at the church, with the Rev. Dr. E. Thomas of St. Paul's Church officiating.
Arrangements are by SMITH FUNERAL HOME, West Middlesex.
