Joseph R. "Joe" Beck, Lackawannock Township, formerly of Sharon, died unexpectedly at home at 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017. He was 69.
He was born Sept. 19, 1947, in Brookville, Pa., to Roy and Alice (Keirn) Beck.
He graduated from Clarion-Limestone High School. Joe was a truck driver for over 30 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Grace in the Wilderness church in West Middlesex.
Joe was a devoted husband who loved the Lord, spending time every day reading his bible. He enjoyed playing guitar in the church band and riding his Harley whenever he could. A big hobby entered his and Cindy's life when they found themselves taking care of all the cats that love them. He also enjoyed helping others and being everyone's friend. His grandchildren meant the world to him.
Joe is survived by his wife, Cindy (Hardy) Palmer Beck, whom he married March 27, 2004, who survives at home; a daughter, Sarah Beck of Farrell; two sons, Joey Beck (Pam) of Clarion, Pa., and Matthew Beck (Lindsay) of Long Beach, Calif; five sisters, Susan Funk (Daniel) of Sharon, Juanita Murphy (Gerald) of Sharpsville, Kate Somer of Clarion, Jackie Work of Fisher, Pa., and Peggy Habuda of Winchester, Va.; two brothers; Charles Long of Sharon and his fiancee Stowie of Hermitage and James Long (Terri) of Strattanville; several grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather, Al Long; a sister, Joanna Beck; two brothers, William and David Beck; and his first wife, Joyce Sveda Beck.

Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe Marzano officiating.
Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
