John Tolliver III, 56, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Farrell, departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, after an extended illness.
John was born on June 1, 1961, in Sharon, the son of Mary (Taylor) and John Junior Tolliver.
He was a 1980 graduate of Farrell High School where he participated in football and excelled in the band, playing the trombone and keyboard.
John was a chef and worked at various restaurants in the Shenango Valley including The Tara and Oak Tree Country Club. He retired due to illness and later moved to Florida.
He attended Parkview Christian Life Center.
John enjoyed playing the keyboard and trombone and locomotive engineering. He was also an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Tina, of Winter Haven; a son, Zaavon Campbell of Florida; a brother, Jonathan Tolliver of Port St Lucie, Fla.; a cousin, Gary (Cheryl) Satterwhite of Farrell, with whom he was reared; three grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and a host of other relatives.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his aunt and uncle who reared him, Samuel and Ruth Satterwhite; a son, Dishon Campbell; a brother, Alan Taylor; a sister, Eve Taylor; and a cousin he was reared with, Cheryl E. Satterwhite Brunson.
