John Rabold, born April 19, 1930, died at 1:30 a.m. Nov. 28, 2017, at his home on Mercer-West Middlesex Road, West Middlesex. He was a son of John and Mabel Phillips Rabold.
He proudly served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, previously serving as a deacon and an elder.
He married the former Loretta Jean Young on Feb. 3, 1951. Together they enjoyed 66 years of marriage. She survives at the residence.
John volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels at Christ Lutheran Church. He retired from the former Sharon Steel Corp. in 1992 with 44 years of service. He had also driven semi trucks for Pepsi Cola Co.
John is survived by his wife and three daughters, Terri (Forrest "Butch") Merrick of Mercer, Darlene (Jeff) Mitchell of West Middlesex, Dawna (Thomas) Cramer of Canfied, Ohio; six grandchildren, Becki (David) Clemetson, Kellie (Matt) Yobe, Rachel (James) Richardson, Daniel Merrick, Valerie (Carl) Martin and Lyndsey (Bryan) Wade; 10 great-grandchildren, Austin Kirk, Madisyn; Makayla, Alexandrea (Lexie), Delani Berkson, Emmalie Yobe, Jared and Ethan Clemetson, Theodore and Amelia Wade; three sisters, Esther Habarka, Pauline Mason, Nancy Weilacker; his brother, David (Pam) Rabold; and two brothers-in-law, Philip (Sonia) Young and Richard Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harry Rabold; a sister, Mildred DeSoto; his in-laws, Philip and Teresa Young; and a great-granddaughter, Sarah Elisabeth Richardson.
The family would like to thank Three Rivers Hospice and Palliative Care for the excellent care they gave to John for the past month since he has been home from the hospital, especially Sue, Neal, Ida, Karen and Father Glenn.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorial donations be made to Sarah's Butterflies Foundation, care of the Community Foundation of Northwestern PA and Eastern OH, 7 W. State St., Suite 301, Sharon, 16146.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (11-30-17) at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex, and from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday (12-1-17) at the Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
Service: Funeral at 1 p.m. Friday (12-1-17) at the church, with the Rev. August Hurst officiating.
Interment: Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
