Jim R. Brown, 74, of West Middlesex, died at 7:25 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 23, 1942, in New Castle to John C. and Mildred Chipman Brown.
Jim attended New Castle High School and graduate from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science degree in applied science.
He worked for Rockwell in New Castle, and was a past chef and member of the Culinary Institute of America.
Jim belonged to Grace Chapel in Hermitage.
He was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in the Army from 1965-67 with the 4th Infantry and 25th Infantry divisions.
Jim enjoyed cooking, gardening, bird watching, and was an avid reader and history buff.
He is survived by: his wife, Diana L. Brown, whom he married July 10, 1995; 10 children; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor's choice.
