Jewel E. Mellors, of Hubbard, died on Tuesday, (Aug. 15, 2017). She was 98.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1919, in Brookfield Township, a daughter of Joshua Osborne Evans and Muriel (Jewell) Evans.
She graduated from Sharon High School in 1937 and the Shenango Valley Commercial Institute. She worked for Sharon Steel as executive secretary to the president.
Survivors include: daughters, Joan F. Sonoga, Hubbard, and Helen M. (Richard) Jackson, Roaming Shores, Ohio; grandsons, Nicholas Calaway and Derek Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her husband Frank, whom she married in 1953; he died in 1992; and siblings, Wanda Davies, Autumn Risch, Col. Daniel Evans and Erwin Evans.
