Janice Marie DeMaria
Janice Marie Vockroth DeMaria, East Paul Street, West Middlesex, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 10, 2019, at the Vockroth Family Farm in Tionesta. She was 65.
She was born in Sharon Feb. 17, 1954, to Russell and Hazel Vockroth (nee Barris). She married Kenneth DeMaria Aug. 27, 1988.
Janice graduated from West Middlesex High School in 1972 and from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1976. She obtained her Master's in Speech and Language Pathology from Edinboro University of Pa. in 1986 and retired from Grove City High School as a speech pathologist in 2010.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Rachel DeMaria, a graduate student at Slippery Rock University; three sisters, Vicki V. Partridge, West Middlesex; Roberta J. Elliott, New Sewickley Township, and Marcia Miller, Painesville, Ohio, and her husband William Miller; and her beloved companion, Gracie the Shih Tzu.
Janice was an Order of the Eastern Star lifetime member. She was the current treasurer of Farrell Eastern Star No. 156. She was also a past worthy matron and deputy grand matron for the Order of the Eastern Star.
Janice was well loved by all who knew her. Her sunny disposition, infectious laugh and unfailing generosity and kindness were known by all. She dedicated herself to assisting others when they most needed it. She was a gracious hostess and was well known for hosting everything from large sleepovers for her daughter to family reunions for her extended family members. She enjoyed beach glass hunting, playing cards, crafting, any water and sun activity and, of course, anything that sparkles.

Calling hours: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday (9-15-19). There will be an Eastern Star Service at the end of the visitation.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday (9-16-19) at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex. Officiating will be Tom Wilson, lay pastor of Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
Interment will follow at Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex.
