James G. "Jim" Seybert, 81, of Volant, passed away Friday (Dec. 22, 2017).
Jim was born on March 9, 1936, in Bradford, to James G. and Rose (Bell) Seybert.
He married Mamie L. "Tiny" Pittman on Oct. 9, 1957.
Jim retired after 30 years of service from William McGinley Co., off campus dormitories and apartments, Slippery Rock, where he was head of maintenance.
During his retirement he enjoyed helping at the Slippery Rock and Mercer Carwashes.
Jim was in the Air Force for many years and served in Vietnam.
He was an outdoorsmen who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and most importantly, he enjoyed helping those in need.
He survived by: his wife, Mamie "Tiny" at home; five children, Michael P. Seybert and wife Debra of Grove City, Karthern "Kathy" Stewart and husband Tim of Boyers, Rose Ann "Rose" Dulaney and fiance David Hill of Mercer, Tina M. Burger and husband Ron of Middletown, and Mandy D. Moomey and husband Mike of Callaway, Va.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by: his parents; two sisters, Mazie Snyder and Ida Mae Nolan; and a brother, Bowman Seybert.
