James Burke Kissinger


James Burke Kissinger, 70, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday morning, May 5, 2019, in UPMC Jameson, New Castle.
He was born in Sharon, on April 19, 1949, a son of Alvin J. and Margaret J. (Burke) Kissinger.
He was a 1967 graduate of Kennedy Christian High School and was a self-employed carpenter.
Jim served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He was a member of Jamestown V.F.W. Post 5424 and the Jamestown Fireman's Club.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and listening to music.
He is survived by a daughter, Laura Mae Kissinger of Jamestown; a son, Jesse James Kissinger and his wife Rochelle of White House, Tenn.; a sister, Jane Hephner of Sharon, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Rae Kissinger and his parents.
