James "Jim" W. Kerr, of Sharpsville, died on Saturday (Oct. 7, 2017). He was 87.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1929, in West Middlesex, a son of Albert and Nellie Marie (McClintoc) Kerr.
He proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and he retired from Sharon Steel after a 38-year career. In addition, he was the owner and operator of Kerr Carpet Cleaning, Sharpsville.
Jim was a member of the Hermitage Church of Christ, where he was a former elder.
Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis J. (Taylor) Kerr, whom he married on June 28, 1952; children, Daniel James Kerr (Beverly) of Bedford, Ind., Susan Grace Turner (Greg) of Harrah, Okla., Lynn Marie Kerr of El Cajon, Calif., Tami Kathleen Mitchell (David) of Searcey, Ark., and Colleen DeAnn Patterson (Franz) of Buford, Ga.; sister, Beverly J. Pulsa of Bakersfield, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Leroy and David Kerr, Isabell Felicetty, Elmyra White, Ardella "Toby" LaFever, Beatrice Winkler and Ivabell Franklin.
