James E. Habbyshaw, 78, of Mercer, passed away at 8:02 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Avalon Springs.
Mr. Habbyshaw was born in Grove City on March 10, 1939, to Clair and Gladys Atkinson Habbyshaw.
He married Patricia Louise Ryder on March 16, 1957. She died on Oct. 3, 2007.
Jim worked at Greenville Steel Car and then Mercer Borough. He was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church.
Mr. Habbyshaw is survived by one daughter, Jodie Roberts of Greenville; five sons, James Habbyshaw Jr. and his companion, Ginger Hartman, of Mercer, Gene Habbyshaw II and his wife, Nicole, of Slippery Rock, Ronald Habbyshaw and his wife, Ginger, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Donald Habbyshaw and his wife, Elizabeth, of Stoneboro, and Brett Habbyshaw of Oklahoma City; a sister, Mary Jane, wife of Jerry Rensel, of Sharon; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters and three brothers.

Calling hours: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday (10-24-17) at New Fellowship Baptist Church, 7103 W. Market St., Mercer.
Service: Funeral at 1 p.m. Tuesday (10-24-17) at the church, with Pastor Gene Habbyshaw II, Jim's son, officiating.
Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Jackson Township.
