Jacob's Story

Text size

The family of Jacob Christian "Jake" Ruddy is sad to announce his passing from this world into eternity where he was received into the hands of Christ.
Jake was a beautiful and loving son, brother and father.
He was born on July 15, 1991, in Scranton, to Jerome P. and Pamela F. Ruddy.
Jake grew up in Grove City and was baptized in the Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
He was a 2009 graduate of Grove City High School. He loved learning about history, playing soccer, making friends of all ages and living life to the fullest.
After high school, Jake went on to study at Lincoln Technical in Hartford, Conn., where he learned welding and went on to become a welder and fabricator in Pennsylvania and Naples, Fla., where he resided for the past four years.
Jacob had an exuberant personality that never failed to make friends and bring laughter to the lives of those who knew him. Jacob's absence from our lives will change us forever.
Jacob was preceded in death by his father, Jerome. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Pamela and Samuel Sykola; sisters, Alexandra (Travis) Moore of Zelienople and Anna Elise Sykola of Mechanicsburg; brothers, Jerome Ruddy of Fort Collins, Colo., Joshua (Miranda) Ruddy of Dunmore, Jordan Ruddy of Naples, Samuel (Sarah) Sykola of Grove City and Spec. Noah Sykola, U.S. Army, of Fort Bragg, N.C.; and Jacob's significant other, Madelyn Harper, and their 3-year-old son, Grayson Christian Ruddy of Naples.
The family is asking that instead of flowers that contributions can be made to the Jacob Ruddy Memorial Fund to be used for the care and education of his son Grayson www.gofundme.com/the-jacob-ruddy-memorial-fund.
