Jack's Story

Jack S. Klingensmith, 74, of Bristolville, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday (Sept. 17, 2017) at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 12, 1943, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Jay and Marybell (Abell) Klingensmith. He lived in Bristolville, Ohio most of his adult life.
Jack graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1961 and proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a technical instructor and promoted to Sergeant with honors.
He worked as an electronic engineer at H.K. Porter Company, Peerless Electric Division in Warren after his years of service in the military.
He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and a fan of Ohio in general and loved all things technical. He was a wizard at his iPhone and computers.
Jack enjoyed breakfast and cookouts with his friends, time with his wife, Margie, and celebratory gatherings with his family.
Jack leaves behind: his wife of 48 years, Marjorie (Gergely) Klingensmith, whom he married July 12, 1969; two sisters, Kay (Ronald) Santti of Warren, and Linda (Frank) Savor of Greenville; niece, Lana (Nick) Kontos of Warren; nephews, William "BJ" Jay II (Sara) Klingensmith of Clearwater, Fla., and Jimmy Klingensmith of Largo; great-nieces, Paras Kontos, Samantha Santti, Kayla and Taylin Klingensmith; great-nephews, Spencer Santti and Mark and Alan Klingensmith; and close extended family including his 103-year-old Uncle Francis Theis.
Jack was preceded in death by: his parents; his twin brother, William Jay "Bill" of Largo, Fla.; and his nephew, Todd Santti of Warren.

A memorial service in honor of Jack's life will be held at the Bristolville Church of the Brethren, 6410 Thompson Clark Road (State Route 88) Bristolville, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Friday (9-22-17).
A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church hall.
