Irene Niemiec, of Casselberry, Fla., previously of Griswold Street, Sharon, passed away on Sunday (June 18, 2017). She was 94.
Mrs. Niemiec was born on Sept. 13, 1922, in Farrell, a daughter to John and Stephanie Siborski Ciechacki. Her adopted parents were Walter and Marcella Kacerski.
When living in Sharon, she was an active member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, a member of the Ladies of Charity, and a member of the Polish National Alliance.
She worked at the A&P for many years as a cashier and also at J.C. Penney's and Farrell Baking Company as a clerk.
Surviving are: two daughters, Stephanie Elliott, Winter Springs, Fla., and Debbie Giordano and her husband Louie, Casselberry; a sister, Phyllis Korab; a brother, Raymond Kacerski; a grandson, Louis Giordano Jr. and his wife Heather; a great-granddaughter, Munroe Giordano; and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Ted Niemiec, passed away on Sept. 2, 1989. Her sisters, Dolores Amoroso, Jean Listopad and her brother, John Chase, also preceded her in death.

Service: A prayer service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 370 Spruce Ave., Sharon, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Hermitage.
