He was born March 6, 1932, to Roy Montgomery Wilson and Rachael Lavina (Greggs) Wilson in Mercer.
Howard graduated from Mercer High School in 1950 and received his bachelor's degree from Grove City College in 1954 and his master's degree from Syracuse University in 1973.
He was employed by IBM for 36 years as an electrical engineer, retiring in 1990.
On Oct. 8, 1954, he married Mary B. Flickinger, his wife of 21 years, who passed away Sept. 9, 1976.
Howard was an avid amateur radio operator; his call sign was WA2NCF. He also enjoyed reading, traveling, old time radio, the N.Y. Mets and playing his guitar.
He is survived by: his sons, Ron and wife Debbie Wilson of Montgomery, N.Y., Les Wilson of Pine Bush, N.Y., and Randy Wilson of Poughkeepsie. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Greg Wilson of Huntsville, Texas, and Amy Stevens and husband Robert of Washingtonville, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Robin Lynn; two sisters, Martha Simons and Virginia Stamp; and three brothers, David (Pete) Wilson, Kenneth and Jack.

Calling hours: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (1-5-19) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.
Funeral: Noon Saturday at the funeral home with Dr. William P. Crooks officiating.
Burial: Findley Cemetery, Findley Township.
