Helga's Story

Helga A. Hassel, a Grove City resident since 1959, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, in Trinity Living Center. She was 87.
Helga was born on Dec. 20, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Paul and Katharina (Fuchs) Vetter.
She married James E. Hassel on Sept. 7, 1957; he preceded her in death on July 17, 1996.
She was a seamstress and a homemaker.
Helga was a member of The Church of The Beloved Disciple, Grove City.
Helga was a member of the Sweet Adelines of Grove City.
She is survived by six children, Isolde "Issy" Wallace, Terry (Candy) Collins, Arlene Crawford, Michael (Patti) Collins, Francene O'Toole and Jackie (Rick) Carlson; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, 11 brothers and sisters preceded Helga in death.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to: The Church of The Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center St. Ext., Grove City, PA 16127.

A private family service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (9-11-17) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, conducted by Fr. Michael Allison.
Burial in Crestview Memorial Park, Inc., Grove City.
