Hazel Vockroth Hazel (Barris) Vockroth, 91, of Sharon Road, West Middlesex, passed away on Wednesday evening (Feb. 20, 2019) at her residence.
She was born in Pulaski on April 15, 1927, a daughter of Arnold Leroy and Imogene Drabert Barris.
She graduated from West Middlesex High School in 1945 and married Russell Sibble Vockroth on Nov. 15, 1947.
During her life, Hazel was a lover of the great outdoors. She was an avid fisherwoman and enjoyed camping and canoeing. She was a scratch euchre player and also enjoyed relaxing at the Vockroth farm, making wine, gardening and home canning.
She worked for the Election Board and Crippled Children's. She volunteered for Girl Scouts. She was an active member of Eastern Star and the West Middlesex United Methodist Church.
The focus of Hazel's life was her family.
She is survived by: her daughters, Vicki Partridge (John) and Janice DeMaria (Ken), both of West Middlesex, Roberta Elliott (John) of Freedom, Pa., and Marcia Miller (Bill) of Painesville, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dave Peterson (Amy), Mike Partridge (Theresa), Darcy Silbaugh (Ryan), Ben Elliott, Rachel DeMaria and Arielle Miller and step-grandchildren John Partridge, Sharon, Wendy Doster (Brian), Buffalo, and Chris Partridge (Kate), Gilbert, Ariz.; great-grandchildren Kole and Kendall Peterson, Alex Rea, Ben Wilms, Johnny Partridge, Delaney Elliott, Atticus, Rowan, and Gryffin "GiGi" Silbaugh, Savannah, Olivia and Jack Partridge and Amanda and Olivia Doster. Hazel is also survived by her sister, Imogene "Jeanie" Spurzem, Mesa, Ariz., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Hazel was preceded in death by: her husband, Russell, who passed on April 15, 2000; sons-in-law John Partridge and John Elliott; and her nine siblings, Arnold, Virginia, Cinderella Mae, Mildred Jean, Bill, Catherine, Nettie, Jerry and Bob.
Memorial contributions can be made to either United Methodist Church of West Middlesex, Area Agency on Aging, Meals on Wheels or Hospice of Sharon Regional.

Interment: Haywood Cemetery.

Dear Vicki,
I know it has been years seeing one another, but I remember you so well. I'm so sorry for your Mom's passing. Think of all the good times in the past, they will help with your mourning and pain. .
