Glenna F. Christy, 89, longtime resident of Brookfield, passed away quietly in her sleep on Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2018, at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, East Palestine, Ohio, following a short illness.
Glenna was born April 30, 1928, in Pleasureville, Ky., a daughter to Lego and Bessie (Barton) Nolin.
She graduated from Pleasureville High School in 1946 and was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sharon.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and sewing.
Surviving Glenna are: daughter, Donnee Sue Huffer and her husband Scott, East Palestine; daughter-in-law, Kendra D. Christy, Brookfield; grandchildren, Corey Lynn Bretz and her husband Gregory, Lawrence William Jennings, II, and his wife Kristina, Courtney Nicole Christy and her companion Cevan Wellman, and Hillary LeeAnn Christy; great-grandchildren, Hadley and Hannah Jennings; sister, Martha Prewitt, Jefferson, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were: her parents; husband, George R. Christy, whom she married July 3, 1954, and who passed on Aug. 25, 1999; son, Assistant Chief Mark S. Christy; four brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Brookfield Township Fire Department, where her son had been the assistant fire chief, or Hospice of the Valley, both c/o the funeral home.
