Gertrude B. Henrich, 91, formerly of Farrell, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Gert was born Jan. 11, 1926, to Andrew and Eva Arz Burprich.
She graduated in 1943 from Farrell High School and worked at Sharon Westinghouse Ordnance Engineering Office and later for the U.S. Government NACI Center in Boyers.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
An active member of the Farrell Saxon Club, Gert served on many committees, helped start the many euchre tournaments, was financial secretary for 31 years, and served as treasurer of the 250 Club for three years. In 1978, she was honored as Woman of the Year.
She was an avid bowler and in 1955 she bowled the highest Duck Pin game and series by a woman in the Shenango Valley with a high game of 270 and a 610 series at Thornton Hall Lanes. She went on to roll Ten Pins and was vice president for the 8 City Saxon Traveling League. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards and bus trips.
She is survived by a son, Thomas, his wife Christine Vadala Henrich, and a grandson Thomas Benjamin, all of Port St. Lucie, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Andrew Burprich; and five sisters, Anna Krutsch, Freda McCoy, Elizabeth Griffith, Margaret Gay and Alice Griffith.
