Gerald P. "Pete" Anthony, 84, of Mercer, passed away at Sharon Regional Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at 11:36 p.m.
Pete was born in Kittanning on March 14, 1933, to Kenneth and Goldie Emery Anthony.
He married Edith M. Ferree Anthony on Oct. 15, 1954. She passed away June 5, 2014.
Pete was an Air Force veteran who worked in data processing for the Air Force for 20 years. He taught at the Mercer County Career Center and worked at the Mercer County Intermediate Unit.
Mr. Anthony was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Mercer and the Neshannock chapter of Trout Unlimited.
Pete is survived by three children, Debbie, wife of Larry Shannon, of Mercer, Sandy Roberts of Meadville and Don Anthony of Renfrew. He is also survived by one sister, Peggy Johnson of New Castle; and two brothers, John Anthony and his wife, Shirley, in North Carolina and Jack Anthony and his wife, Joann, in Florida; as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters and one brother.
