George C. Rieder of Grove City, formerly of Mercer and Pittsburgh, passed away on Saturday (March 10, 2018) following an extended illness. He was 89.
George was born on June 24, 1929, to the late Albert G. and Margaret Ann (Sherri) Rieder.
He married Cora Waxler Wright in 1972.
George was a truck driver throughout his life.
He was raised in the Catholic faith and served our country in the Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War.
Survivors include: his wife, Cora; three step-children, Ron Wright, Patty Wright and Joyce Wright-Stalker; five children, Sue Kims, James Rieder, Peggie Mason, Georgine "Pebbles" Rieder and Chrissy Agostino; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Karen Gibson, Petronella Finger and Sheribell Sheetz; and a brother, Jerry Rieder.
He was preceded in death by: two sons, Terry and Robert Rieder; and a brother, Al "Junior" Rieder.

Calling hours: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday (3-13-18) at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME INC., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
Service: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Amy Worline officiating.
Burial: Crestview Memorial Park.
