Frieda M. Miller, of Greenville, passed away peacefully with her family and caregivers at her side on January 18, 2018, in St. Paul Homes. She was 97.
Frieda was born on Sept. 1, 1920, to Prescott L. and Lillie (Bortz) Diefenderfer in Transfer.
She graduated from Pymatuning Township High School class of 1938 and the Shenango School of Business.
She worked for Westinghouse Inc. in support of the war effort during World War II. On August 2, 1941, she married her husband, Elmer H. Miller, who passed away November 18, 1974.
Frieda was a member of the former Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Transfer. In her younger years she grew gladiolas. She was an avid Pirates fan and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara M. and husband Larry Ruhlman, Erie; Patricia E. Miller and husband Dennis Bohn, Transfer; son, Robert A. and wife Peggy Miller, Greenville; and brother, Ernest and wife Virginia Diefenderfer, Wickenburg, Ariz.; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Kathleen A. Miller, brother Ralph Diefenderfer, sisters, Virginia Cavender, and Doris McCann.
The family would like to thank St. Paul's and Southern Care Hospice who proved there are angels on earth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Heart Association, in memory of Frieda.
