'Gene' B. Dye Eugene B. "Gene" Dye, 88, of Grove City passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on Wednesday morning, Nov. 7, 2018, in Orchard Manor.
Gene was born on Oct. 23, 1930, to Roland A. and Naomi R. (Day) Dye.
He married Violet M. Parquette on Feb. 12, 1949; she survives at home.
Gene retired in 1986 from Cooper Energy Services, where he was a machinist for 33 years. He formerly was a mechanic at Jordan Brothers Ford, Grove City.
He was a longtime member of Barkeyville United Methodist Church. Gene enjoyed fishing, bowling, boating and car racing. He loved to attend Mercer stock car races with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Vi at home; two daughters, Diana Filer and husband Gary, Mercer and Darlene Coursen and husband Terry, Barkeyville; a child he and his wife raised, Michael B. Dennison, two foster daughters, Theresa J. Martin and husband James, Sharon, and Patty Knight and her two sons, Tim and Ben, Mercer; four grandchildren, Brian Filer, Billie Jean Hetrick, Tricia Ward and Joshua Coursen; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Hetrick, Lance Ward, Jordan Filer, Zach Hetrick, Carter Coursen, Clint Ward and Cooper Coursen; and a brother Lawrence E. Dye, Grove City.
His parents and a brother, Roland A. Dye Jr. preceded Gene in death.

Calling hours: From 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday (11-9-18) at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME INC., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
Service: Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (11-10-18) at Barkeyville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ken Hughes officiating.
Burial: Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Grove City.
