Ellen B. Felix
Ellen was born Nov. 9, 1926, in McJunkin Hollow Marion Township, Butler County. She was the daughter of John and Nancy Jane "Jeannie" Hilliard Wiles.
Ellen attended Pigsah School and the Eau Claire High School.
Ellen married Thomas D. Felix on Oct. 8, 1945, in St. Alphonsus Pariah in Murrinsville; Tom passed away on April 2, 2008. Together the couple had three children: Larry, Bill and Helen.
Ellen was devoted to her faith. She attended St. Alphonsus in Murrensville and the former St. Paschal's in Argentine. Ellen was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple in Grove City and attended Mass regularly when her health permitted. She enjoyed watching Mass on EWTN.
Later in life she worked as a home health aide to many local families.
Ellen's true vocation was wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ellen shared wonderful family history involving past generations, often commenting how rich we were to have such an extended family. She enjoyed herself at the Felix Family Reunion this past summer. She cherished her relationships with her nieces and nephews and was pleased to have a namesake, Ellen Smail. Ellen's quick wit and amazing sense of humor will be dearly missed. Ellen loved attending bingo with her friends as well.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her children, Larry "Newt" Felix and his wife Jan of Parker; her daughter, Helen "Ann" Felix of Grove City; Ellen's grandchildren, Thomas B. Felix and his wife Amy of Emlenton; W. Mike Felix of Harrisville; Tammy Felix of Emlenton; and Larilyn Milks and her husband Steve of Emlenton. A sister also survives, Enie (Wiles) Hottel of Orchard Manor, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Felix; Ellen's great-grandchildren Kim and Nicole Felix, Melissa Elicker, Cody Griffin, Heather Dunkerly and her husband John, Chole Milks, Taylor Felix; and two step-great-grandchildren Emily and Ashley Milks. Many nieces and nephews and extended family also survive.
Ellen was welcomed into heaven by her parents; husband; a son, Wm. G. "Bill" Felix and his wife Barbara; her brother, W. Michael Wiles and his wife Laura; F. Joseph Wiles and his wife Pat; a sister, Stella Evans and her husband Jim; and two infant brothers, John and Robert Wiles.
