Elizabeth M. "Sis" Smith, of Stoneboro, Lake Township, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side at 12:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, after an extended illness. She was 83.
Born March 15, 1934, in the Village of London, Grove City, she was a daughter of Robert H. and Thelma Redmond Ryder.
She attended Mercer High School.
Margaret was a member of the Jackson Center Presbyterian Church and was involved with the card ministry.
She was an avid reader and loved keeping up with the news of the day. Along with her husband, she was a volunteer for the Lakeview Area Meals on Wheels.
Most of all, she was a homemaker and loved taking care of her boys. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all.
Her husband, Frank E. Smith, whom she married Nov. 29, 1952, preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 2015.
She is survived by five sons, Frank E. Smith Jr. and his wife, Cherrie, of Stoneboro, Robert E. Smith and his wife, Lucille, of Orlando, Fla, Richard W. "Rick" Smith, Leonard T. Smith and Jeffrey S. Smith and his wife, Lori A. McCann, all Stoneboro; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Roberta (Robert) Kirshmann of Wabash, Maine; and a brother Robert (Karen) Ryder Jr. of Jackson Center.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Alice Barnes and Patricia Habbyshaw; and a brother, Donald Redmond.

Service: Funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday (10-12-17) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles E. Crane, Pastor, officiating.
Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Township.
