Elizabeth Krauss, 95, of Grove City, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 19, 2018, in her home.
Known to her family and friends as "Liz" or "Betty", she was born in Sharon on Dec. 18, 1922, to Zigmund and Ethel (Pustay) Battyanyi. She was raised in the Lutheran faith.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Sharon High School and during World War II she welded torpedoes at the Westinghouse plant in Sharon.
She retired from Grove City College where she worked in the Gedunk for many years. She formerluy worked for Strouss Department Store in Salem, Ohio, and Robinsons Department Store in Clearwater, Fla.
Elizabeth was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Her husband William Krauss, whom she married in 1960, preceded her in death in 1975.
Elizabeth is survived by three children, Fran Hardesty, of Grove City, Dan Devine and wife Mary, of Berlin Center, Ohio, and Lori Reynolds and husband John, of Grove City; three grandchildren, Phillip Hardesty, of Erie, Morgan Hardesty, of Pittsburgh and Kaylee Elizabeth Reynolds, of Grove City; three great-grandchildren, Ellyson Grace, Noah Phillip and Marek William Hardesty; a sister, Margaret Gasparich, of Indiana; and her beloved feline, Willow.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents and husband; her former husband, Francis Devine; four sisters, Mary Gargano, Julia Kaye, Ann Pollack and Rose Marie Krauss; four brothers, Steve, James, Louis and Joseph Battyanyi and a son in law, Phillip Hardesty.

Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (1-24-18) at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City with Rev. Willard Morse officiating.
Visitation hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (1-23-18) at the funeral home.
Burial: Saint Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
