Eleanor's Story

Eleanor A. Ruggles, 89, formerly of Stoneboro, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, in Clepper Manor, Sharon, of natural causes.
She was born Jan. 22, 1928, in New Lebanon to Charles W. and Blanche E. Johnston Owens and was a 1946 graduate of Sandy Lake High School.
Eleanor worked as an electrical inspector for Beal Brothers of Hadley, that became GTI, retiring in 1992 after 32 years of service.
She was a member of Lakeview Church of God, Stoneboro.
Eleanor loved to sew, was always crocheting something and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include: a son, John E. (Nanette) Ruggles; three grandchildren, Jordan, Cody and Sean Ruggles, all Sharon; two sisters, Avis (Dan) Amon, Franklin, and Kate Magee, Grove City; two brothers, William H. (Jean) Owens, Oil City, and C. Ernest (Becky) Owens, Fairborn, Ohio; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Her parents and an infant sister preceded her in death.

Visitation: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday (10-2-17) in SCOTT A. BLACK FUNERAL HOME, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday (10-3-17) in the funeral home with Rev. Robert S. Mohr, pastor of Lakeview Church of God, officiating.
Interment: New Lebanon Cemetery, Mill Creek Township.
