Edward W. Lazor Jr., 58, of South Pymatuning Township, a 3D computer animator/illustrator and special effects artist for film, advertising and corporate projects, died Sunday, June 11, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
Ed was born Jan. 7,1959, to Edward William Lazor Sr. and Olivia Mary Campagna Lazor of South Pymatuning Township, Sharpsville.
He was a 1977 graduate of Sharpsville Area High School, He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Youngstown State University, trained in film production at Pacific Data Images (PDI), Palo Alto, Calif., and attended master's degree classes in film animation with the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, Calif.
Edward developed and practiced his creative skills at a number of smaller production companies in western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and Virginia before taking a position at PDI, a subsidiary of DreamWorks in California. After returning to Pennsylvania, he was an adjunct instructor at Youngstown State University. He also established his own business as a freelance motion graphics and design animator.
During his career, his was involved with several well-known commercial and film projects such as Sparkle Markets, Pillsbury Dough Boy, Kraft Salad Dressings, WQED logo, "Antz," "Shrek,""Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," "Forces of Nature," Fine Tune and many others.
Ed enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time outdoors and training dogs. He was an active member of the Penn-Ohio Dog Club, with a special love and gift for rescuing and rehabilitating dogs.
He is survived by his two daughters, Madison Claire Lazor and Alexa Nicole Lazor, both of Transfer, as well as his mother, Olivia Campaga Lazor of South Pymatuning Township; a sister, Teresa Lazor Paporello and husband, Gary, of Manhein; a niece, Kristen Paporello Rogers and husband, Mathew, of Lancaster; and a nephew, Petty Officer Kyle Paporello USCG, of Savannah, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward W. Lazor Sr.; his grandparents, Rocco and Antionette (Anna) Campagna, John and Anna Lazor; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday (6-16-17) in St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matthew Strickenberger as celebrant.
